Charitable Giving

As a unique and vital part of the Masonic fraternal family, Daughters of the Nile in the United States and Canada join hands across the border to work together in Friendship, Charity and Truth. Our philanthropic efforts are focused on the patients of Shriners Hospitals for Children®, a one-of-a-kind international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to the age of 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment regardless of the child’s ability to pay.

The Supreme Temple, Daughters of the Nile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public corporation which maintains a permanent endowment fund to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children®. All monetary donations promote, support and maintain the philanthropic endeavors that enhance the medical care and treatment of the patients in the Shriners Hospitals for Children®.  The Canadian Trust provides the same support to Shriners Hospital for Children®-Canada.

Due to the generosity of the members, their families and friends, Daughters of the Nile has placed Gold Plaques on the philanthropic walls of all of the twenty-two Shriners Hospitals for Children®. These contributions represent over $50 Million dollars since 1924 when our philanthropy was established.
